I am very proud to welcome you to St Joseph’s Catholic Middle School.
St Joseph’s Catholic Middle School was opened in 1976 and is part of a Federation of Catholic Schools in Hexham that has been educating children from its community since 1832 and is a vibrant evangelising community. Our school is set in the west end of Hexham and is set in beautiful grounds with much outside space which complement teaching, learning and play.
In our school we seek to create an inclusive community where everybody is valued and nurtured. People routinely comment on the friendly atmosphere that exists in the school but they also notice that it has a great sense of purpose. School life is rooted in mutual respect and understanding of each other and our Catholic ethos permeates our school Mission Statement, “Embrace the spirit and teachings of the Catholic Faith while striving for excellence in all aspects of school life“. Our school aims underpin our Curriculum Intent. Our Curriculum is creative, fulfilling and engaging and aims to provide our school community with the highest quality education, learning behaviours and wellbeing.
At St Joseph’s we are committed to the achievement of every single child regardless of his or her ability. I am proud to say that our children not only develop a growth mindset but make exceptional progress from their starting points and achieve impressive results as children progress through the Federation.
As a school we truly believe in strong relationships between home and school, setting the highest standards of behaviour and work ethic with strong parental support. Because by working together we will ensure the best outcomes for our pupils on their spiritual and academic journey.
At St Joseph’s we seek to develop the whole child and so provide a wide range of extra-curricular activities for pupils to experience. Our specialism in Performing Arts means that pupils can access fabulous facilities for Music, Dance and Drama.
If you are interested in applying for a place at our school, I would be delighted to show you around personally.
