If your child is unwell and unable to attend school please ensure that you contact school before 8.30am.
Please provide your child’s full name and form class as well as the nature of the illness when you contact school. Registers are checked daily and if a child is recorded as absent and there has not been any contact from parents then school will ring home to ascertain the reason for the absence.
For information about requesting leave of absence during term time please see the Leave of Absence policy on the school website.
School has designated staff who have appropriate First Aid training who will deal with pupils who have an accident in school or are feeling unwell. If necessary a parent will be contacted if a child needs to be collected from school or requires further treatment i.e. taken to hospital. It is essential that school always has up to date contact numbers in case of an emergency. As appropriate, school keeps a record of accidents and any first aid administered.
Occasionally it is necessary for a child to take prescribed medication for a short time during the school day e.g. antibiotics. If this situation arises for your child school staff will not administer the medication, however, staff will supervise the medication being taken once a completed medication form has been received by school. Please click here to download a copy of the medication form.
