Bishop Seamus has invited all of us to take part in “A Journey of Renewal” to explore together what makes for a flourishing and viable worshipping community. Each of the parishes in the diocese will be asked to consider carefully and prayerfully such issues as: young people, worship and spiritual life, leadership and facilities.

Fr. Zielinski, the previous parish priest has written a book about Our Lady and St.Cuthbert Church in Prudhoe entitled “The Church That Moved.” This is an illustrated local history book about the development of the town and parish up to 2005. Copies are available from local bookshops.

Here is Fr. Zielinski meeting Prince Charles to talk about his book at a lunch at Clarence House, London.

In 2007 Fr. Deegan, previous parish priest of St Mary’s and Fr. Pyle celebrated their Golden Jubilees as priests. Sadly, Fr Deegan died on 13th June 2011. May he rest in peace. Amen

Songs of Praise at Hexham Abbey

Our choir took part in a recording of the BBC programme Songs of Praise at Hexham Abbey. They sang beautifully and we enjoyed watching the programme on television.

The programme was presented by Aled Jones (below) and he was really impressed with Hexham and the surrounding countryside.
